Chance of rain, grrrrr......chance of rain, grrrr......chance of rain, grrrr.......chance of rain, grrrr.
Above is the current forecast for Memorial Weekend in Galveston and I am not happy about it. I am living extra good this week in hopes that my extra penance with help keep the rain at bay. Hopefully the long weekend will be full of sunny skies, warm temperatures, a comfortable breeze and low humidity (yeah right, in Houston, uh huh). We are all really looking forward to traveling to Galveston this week to visit with our good friends. It's been far too long since we've seen each other, and lots of hugs and smiles and laughter will be in order.
This weekend went great, and we could not have asked for better weather. Aidan's Tball game on Saturday morning was great, and he absolutely crushed the ball. One of his hits cleared second base in the air. That might not sound like much to most of you, but let me tell you, among 5 year olds that is a MONSTER shot. Two of the coaches could not make the game, so that put yours truly out on the field to help teach the kids. I really enjoyed myself, and it was great planting the seeds of baseball knowledge in their young minds, and helping the kids learn the game that I love so much.
Saturday afternoon the family spent the day at the house playing outside most of the time. We picked up a really small pool for Christopher, and he had a big time "swimming" in the back yard. Sometimes I think he might be part Dolphin. He absolutely loves the water. That theory will definitely be tested later this week when he gets to see and play in the Ocean for the first time. I cannot wait to see his reaction to the big blue (or in Galveston's case the big grayish) and the crashing waves. Don't worry, there will be plenty of pictures to document the festivities.
I did some grilling on Saturday night, and succulent Rib-Eyes were on the menu. Not to toot my own horn or anything, but they were AWESOME. I'm talking "melt in your mouth" good. mmmmmmmmmm.........steak......aghhhhhhhhhhh.........
Sunday we had another great day at home and again played outside much of the day. The fun times were interrupted by a trip to Wal-Mart, but to be honest, even that was far less painful than usual. Sunday night, Cricket and Aidan's cousins Wyatt and Jackson came over and screaming, running, and general good times were enjoyed by all. Even Mystic's playmate Sammy (Cricket and the boys' dog) came over, and woo hoo let me tell you she was one tired dog after they left.
Weekends are always so much fun, and like I always say......kids are great.
I hope everybody has a great day!
